Chelmarsh Sailing weekend at The Dovey Yacht Club, Aberdyfi

The Dovey Yacht Club, Aberdyfi was once again host to visitors from Chelmarsh
Sailing Club, Shropshire, over the weekend of May 10th.
Pete Benson, Dovey Yacht Club Commodore, said, “We have had 28 visiting boats
this year from Chelmarsh, which is an excellent turnout. We had four races over the
weekend, with both young and old competing, mostly in a mixture of GP’s, Solos and
Lasers. We have all had a very enjoyable weekend, with pretty good sailing
conditions.”

Chelmarsh Sailing Club Commodore, Grahame Calladine, said, “ This is always a
very popular weekend for Chelmarsh sailors. We used to come here years ago as a
club and started coming back again annually in 1995.

Chelmarsh Sailing Club is situated on a 106 acre reservoir, so coming to Aberdyfi is
sometimes the only chance for some of our members to experience the different and
challenging conditions of sea sailing.

We look forward to coming here very year, and always have a terrific weekend.
Everyone at the Dovey Yacht club is very welcoming, and Aberdyfi itself is such a lovely
place.”
