Junior Saturday Sailing @ Chelmarsh SC

This year and as a change from running basic junior courses and trying to reach a bigger audience I am running Junior Saturday Sailing on the following dates.

April 23rd and 30th
May 21st and 28th
June 18th and 25th
Aug 13th and 20th
Sept 10th and 17th

Chelmarsh Youth at West Midlands On Board Sunday 11th Sept 2011.

On Sunday 11th September a team of 6 Youth Sailors from Chelmarsh went to Bartley Green Sailing Club for an 'On Board' sailing day. The team arrived to strong (almost gale forces) winds and it was clear that only very intrepid and experienced of sailors would venture out in this. Undaunted, the organisers were determined that the journey would not be wasted, and the morning was spent doing various relay races, paddling picos, using 'mini rig' sails and land based fun relays. This was the first time Chelmarsh Sailing Club had entered a team, and they were delighted to be runners up at the end of the activities. Next year they look forward to doing some team sailing races! The day concluded with BBQ lunch and a short prizegiving.
